About Kirsten

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Massachusetts and I offer in-person sessions in my Concord office as well as HIPAA-compliant Telehealth sessions. With over 10 years of clinical experience, I have developed a person-centered style rooted in compassion and respect for the multitude of ways we humans experience our lives. I am able to personalize sessions based on the individual needs of my clients and based on active, ongoing feedback as we work together. I am working towards certification as a Perinatal Mental Health Specialist through Postpartum Support International and have completed an advanced training in support of this goal.

Prior to beginning my private practice, I held a number of different clinical roles including at an emergency shelter, at a trauma-focused residential school, as a clinical case manager with a managed care company, and at a therapeutic day school where I worked with children and supported their parents, as well. I continue to provide outpatient therapy at the therapeutic day school as a part of my private practice. I hold a BA in Psychology from Boston University and a MA in Counseling Psychology from Lesley University.

In my spare time I enjoy reading (mostly audiobooks these days!), running, spending time near the ocean and lakes whenever possible, sharing delicious food with people I love, playing loads of imaginary games with my daughter, and engaging in efforts to promote racial justice and reproductive freedom.

Perhaps most importantly, I am also a mother. The experience of becoming a mother has given me firsthand awareness of just how much support is needed and how our identities can transform. This process can be fraught with anxiety, fear, and sadness, in addition to joy, hope, and fulfillment. In my work as a therapist, I commit to bearing witness to your experience, to validating and normalizing your challenges, to providing education and supporting skill building, and to helping you figure out your own personal needs and how to meet them. I believe that therapy is a place where anything can be discussed and I commit to creating a safe space for this.
