Therapy Sessions

I schedule sessions on weekdays (except Tuesdays) between the hours of 9:00am and 3:00pm. Our first contact is typically by phone or email when we schedule a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation to determine goodness of fit.

Assuming we decide to work together, we will discuss some of the initial logistics and then schedule our intake session. Prior to this, I will send you some documents to review and complete, including my practice policies, informed consent, HIPAA compliance, and client history. Completing these before our intake session will allow more time to speak together, identify your goals, and make a plan for further treatment.

Depending on their needs and goals, some clients are seeking short-term support (8-10 sessions) and others are looking for longer-term support. Some clients may need weekly appointments and some may prefer bi-weekly. We will speak collaboratively as we begin our therapeutic relationship and in an ongoing way to discuss how things are progressing, and what (if any) adjustments should be made.

Therapy Fees

Initial 55-minute intake session: $160

55-minute sessions: $160

45-minute sessions: $140

A limited number of reduced fee/sliding scale appointments are sometimes available on a need-related basis. Please inquire.

Insurance Options

I am in-network with Aetna, Optum, Point32/Harvard Pilgrim, and Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance plans. If you would like to use insurance coverage for therapy, I will need to confirm your plan status prior to your first appointment. This typically takes about 24 hours.

For out-of-network plans, I can provide you with an invoice to document paid sessions that you can submit to your insurance company. It is your responsibility to contact your insurance company to determine what out-of-network benefits you may have and to submit any insurance claims.

Some clients have insurance but choose not to use it, and there may be several reasons for this. A fellow clinician has created an informative post about this and you can read it here or feel free to discuss any questions or thoughts directly with me.
